I have a friend that is looking for one. Specifically the Fred Bear Tigercat of the late 1960's. Any help would be appreciated.

Swamp Pygmy

there is a guy here somewhere (forget his name) that rebuilds them.

He'll find an old broken one or whatever, remove the limbs from the riser and re sand the riser and make new limbs and glass and all for it.

So essentially its a new bow of the same old wood. They even sell original rests and stuff at 3rivers.

There may be infringement laws about making an exact reproduction. But I think refinishing it like the guy does is probably legal. Which may be why he does it. Not that I know either way, I'm just guessing.  :)

good luck.

Slayer, there are several bowyers out there who can and have made replica bows. Ed Holcomb has made some remarkable replicas and Randy Dehnel and John McCullough have built some very nice replicas of the famous '59 Kodiak. In fact, I've seen Kodiaks from different periods from a wide range of bowyers over the years. The only copyright issues to consider lie in the naming of the bow. Owen Jeffery built some Super Kodiak models back in the eighties and I've seen a Super K built by Keith Chastain as well. There are many others as well.I suggest you contact every bowyer you can and simply ask. You will eventually find a competent builder who will take the project. Finding that person can be an enjoyable process. Good luck on your search.  Grant
