Wife's dream....
« on: September 26, 2008, 09:57:00 AM »
My wife just told me see had a dream last night of her taking up archery! She only got to shoot one arrow...but it was a perfect bullseye! Maybe that dream has started something.....
Isaiah 49:2...he made me a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.

That is the dream I have for my wife as well.

I second that b.glass, my husband got me into it then he lost intrest.  Stinks-I love it.  He shoots only when I drag him out.  He says he is a "rock climber" with no time for other hobbies.  We live in Iowa!  Go figure.

Snag-buy her a bow!  She will love it.

Feed him alot so he puts on 20 lbs. Rock climbing loses its appeal when you are hauling that extra weight. Then it's back to archery.    :biglaugh:

I wish I could get my wife intested, but she is such a girly girl if she broke a nail it would be all over.   :goldtooth:    :jumper:

My wife took up bowhunting 4 years ago and let me tell you, it doesn't get any better than that.

Prior to her starting to hunt, we just shot in the back yard.  The whole experience was special from the start where the longbow string slapped everything that sticks out on her to harvesting her first whitetail.

You'll never be sorry for getting her started.

We all know it's great hunting with the guys but over the last 4 years, our camp has never been cleaner, the food has never been better and the night have never been cozier!

Wait until she starts making up excuses for not attending family events because the rut is on.

Shooting with the wife does bring on some special challenges.  Even after all these years, when watching her shooting form, it's awful hard to concenrate on that bow!

Get her a bow and enjoy.  MJ

Her grandmother on her mother's side was of the  Chippewa tribe. Maybe there is some of her emerging?

Oh Donald,  I love you but I can honestly say that the whole camping, hunting thing isn't for me.  I will always support you in this, as it is your passion, as I hope you always support me in my passion,  Spending your money!

If they ever start getting spas in the woods, then maybe we can talk about it...

How much weight do you think she could handle Snag? Perhaps we could loan you one for her to test run.

That's an interesting idea Vermont! I think I should start her out with 35lbs (maybe 40lbs) and work her up from there. She is 5'5" and pretty athletic. I just don't want to overbow her and have her give up or not have fun with it....?

Killie, I like your "base camp"!!!   :biglaugh:

Killie, that is great. I will have to put one of those in my hunting camp and maybe that will lure her. See honey a spa in the woods.   :bigsmyl:    :biglaugh:

You could maybe hire Fabio to give her facials and backrubs...oooh! Footrubs! Notice that a self-given footrub is never as good as one gotten with help! Yup, mud-a on, mud-a off, heat packs, footrubs (special attention in between the toes) and a wondrous sippy-drink, some baklava or Belgian chocolates...you may end up with a whole 'nother man-room for more toys!!
