I've been shooting my A magnesium riser with No. 2 53# limbs, think I'll use that.

I have a couple but I'm taking this one next Saturday when season opens.  It's a 1972 Bear Mag (as in magnesium) Takedown.  60", B Riser.

Jim, already got one down with my '68 Cub (my first with traditional gear). Probably gonna' get some field time with my "A" mag take-down that I picked up at Denton Hill as well.

Best of luck to you and Joe.

(George, I dig that "B" mag. One of those is next on my "list")

Was going out this morning here in MD but I would have ended up with a wet a$$(and everything else). When its real wet out do you guys worry about moisture entering stress cracks or any unseen openings. I'm hunting with a "64" Zebrawood Grizzly this year and I'm concerned about moisture getting in and swelling the wood. What do you guys use to coat your bows that is scent free. Alot of the waxes have a lingering odor.
                          Thanx, Shep

Dad owned an archery shop in the 50's and 60's. I went into the Marines in 67 and got back from Viet Nam in 69.  Dad closed the store when I was gone but saved me a brand new Kodiak Hunter.  Shot many deer with it and still hunt with  to this day.  Thanks Dad !!!

well I was hell bent to hunt this evening so I wiped down the grizz with a very light coat of Vasoline then wiped it clean with a rag. Got in the tree about 5:05. Saw 9 deer, 1 good buck, 3 year and a 1/2 bucks and 4 does. Nothing was closer then 60 or so yds. but I dodged the rain and the world is one feral cat short. Big ol tom came sneaking thru just before dark. I didn't see him coming but the squirrels let me know he was there. A 15 yard neck poke ended his rabbit/quail eating days and no I'm not eating it.

I'll be hunting with a 1957 Kodiak Special. Love this old bow.

Thank You Craig, The shafts are some of Don Stokes' Light Hardwoods (supercedars).

Barrel tapered and fly like darts.

Trap,, Not to certain but i think I passed up a deal on the same bow about 3 or 4 years ago.. At that time WP had the bow and it was in need of a good cleaning..
Seeing it now, makes me want to hurt myself.

Ye Ken I dont know, I bought this one from a fella in Idaho.  He got it in a trade he made with Bowdoc and said he'd had it for 8-9 years I believe. I'm sure we could ask Doc and he'd know for sure.

Bowdoc refinnished it at some point in the past and it looks like a new bow.  The man's talents are amazing.

Sounds like maybe the one you had a chance at may still be out there.  That's what keeps us scrounging around looking for them isnt it.    ;)

Everytime I see a thread on old Grizzlies I pine for my Grizzly I bought in '67.  I'll use a '70 Kodiak Hunter this year though.  This was my Grizzly, a yearling 5 pt in 1968 or 1969 can't remember but my first deer ever, my first bow kill ever.  The deer wasn't that big but I had a big smile.

Great idea Trap,Thanks for the pictures!!!!!

I had a leather top quiver that I "donated" to the '56 K Special "Joan Leonard Memorial Bunny Hunt" bow. I wish I'd have seen this earlier,I'd have used the straps instead of electrical tape LOL
