Well I pretty much just confirmed it with myself, I went to the garage and tried to draw my bow and didn't make it to half draw.

Guess Mom DID raise stupid kids as well as ugly ones.

You and me both. Not for an injury on my part, but family stuff makes it so that I am hesitant to leave for my fall hunt, to be out of town for three weeks.

I am free for day hunts, though, if there is a tree stump that needs warming...Ooh, that's cold, ain't it!   :D

Seriously, sorry that your service, service that protects folks like me, should cost you so much. I feel your disappointment, truly, and hope for a speedy recovery.

Next time don't yank...give him the TAZER, he'll listen after that and be much more docile.

I feel your pain brother, I had rotator cuff surgery just before bow season a few years back.

Dang it Keith.  You just had and go do it, didn't you...I wish you well my friend.  I just hope that the one that came through the window has as much pain as you.

I feel for you, brother.  I hurt my left shoulder grabbing a guy who was running away from me a few years back.  I learned you can't "short cut" the healing process either.

I love to bow hunt, but I'm not above using a black powder rifle either.  Enjoy what you can of the season and do what the doc says.  You'll be  ready next year.

I pray you heal quick.      Good luck

Sorry for your pain.

Now how bad do you want to hunt?

Check out this fellow.

Sorry to hear that.  Now at least.... (let me explain).

Up until I read Killdeers coment about "sorry that your service, service that protects folks like me, should cost you so much."  All I could think about was making a wisecrack.  I read your line about "you don't know how angry this makes me" or something to that effect in your first post and all I could think was "I wonder if it makes him angry enough to rip some guy out of a car window?"  Didn't think of you being a deputy, just sounded like bubba road rage gone bad.   :banghead:      :D

I's sooo stupid sometimes   :banghead:      :banghead:      :banghead:
Dave

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

David-now that's an inspirational story!         Guys, don't miss out on Vermonster13's link above!

Still feel bad for you Keith! Pulled a tendon/muscle a few weeks ago that still bugs me. It'll be OK for the season thank God but the older I get I receive more and more "reminders" that the parts wear out!

Had shoulder surgery on the 22nd, this month. Tanked my season too.
I had been shooting when I could take the pain, and for that bit of stupidity, I ended up with 8 staples holding my superspinosis tendon back to where it should be, sutures to my rotator cuff tears, and a good scraping to clear the calcification off of the tendon 'run.'
Surgeon showed me pictures of the shoulder joint, and told me the red colouration on the ball, and socket wasn't blood, but inflammation from being constantly irritated.
Look after that shoulder, Keith, and get it healed properly. And quit pulling your bow!
Like me, you will only make it worse!   :banghead:
Best of luck, and a quick recovery!

Oww!  This thread is a tough read.  A prayer has been sent for all of the TGers needing healing.  I'm very thankful for good health.

Well I finally had my results from the MRI yesterday with the Doctor. He says I have a superior labrum tear in my shoulder, not much fun.

He put me on light duty and gave me a cotazone shot to get me going.

Says he wants to see me again in 6 weeks to talk about surgery maybe... and the hits just keep on coming.

I told him that I really wanted to hunt the rest of the bow season and he says,"Well can't you just use a crossbow!"  :scared: !!

Guess he just doesn't get it.

At least I'll be able to get back to work in some kind of compasity, been going crazy around the house.
