Rainy day tree stand equip
« on: October 07, 2008, 09:02:00 AM »
With the limited amount a guy has to hunt these days it makes sense to hunt thru some rain showers and days.  Since I usually use a back quiver in a tree stand (hang it from a screw in hook about waist level)I am going to use a golf bag cover to protect fletchings during the rain.

Has anyone used one of those umbrellas that attach to the tree? Do they work? Are they noisy? Rain suit is good but how to protect your bow?

Any other rainy day tree stand tips out there?
When a man shoots with a bow it is own vigor of body that drives the arrow,  his own mind controls the missile's flight......His trained muscles and toughened thews have done the work

I use one of the umbrellas that attach to the tree. Love it. They work very well as long as the wind is not to strong. The noise isn't any different than the rain coming through the trees or hitting the forest floor.

I use an unbrella in the rain and love it.

Best $16 you can invest.  You have to mount it high to give your bow clearance.  It's a little noisy for you but haven't seen it bother game - turkey or deer.
