? for glass bow builders

Trying to get things in line so i can get a bow started while on christmas break. I have owned a habu and loved it. I really like the looks of the bows (habu, widow, kwik stik) that have limbs that bolt on the rear of the riser. So my question is, will the recurve limb form from binghams work for this style of bow? Please elaborate.

The form will work but you'll need different hardware. One way is an insert that goes through the limb and bolts through the riser. A friend gave me some last summer. I believe he got them from McMaster-Carr. Don't know the proper name for them. They look like an engine valve with a threaded hole in the stem.

any idea how the performance would be compared to bolting the limbs on front? Seems like youd loose a lil draw length in terms of limb movement

If the only change is in the riser/limb attachment system you'll keep the same draw lenght.

Bad info in my last posts. Didn't read your post correctly.The inserts I suggested won't work on a back bolted limb. The standard double threaded inserts will work in a back bolted application. Your draw lenght will be shortened by bolting the limbs on the back of the riser. You'll have to change the wedge to get enough flat surface for the bolt and locating pin.

Here's a longbow that I built for my grandson using the forward handle design. I would think you could do the same with recurve limbs. The problem you will have is getting the correct limb pad angle which is dependent on your draw length and the length of the bow.
