Well just the very short version of how this came about. This is not meant to be a sob story but just a little history on why me, (non-bowyer) ends up with limb lams.
No doubt we have all seen the "watch out for these guys (insert names)" thread at the top of all the classifieds section. Well I am one that got hosed by one of the guys on that list. One of them made a claim that he was wanting to start building bows and that if I bought the material he would build me and my buddy bows for free, as he wanted to get his name out there. Well up to that point I had no reason to think he was a crook, but had a trade deal going with him at the time. He ended up screwing me on the trade deal, and on the bow-building deal as well. I went back in forth trying to get some of my losses back, as well as my buddy's.
The guy said he made it right and was sending me a bow that would make up for his wrong, (which I didn't beleive at this time anyway) and these are what showed up along with a nasty note!! These are supposedly the lam's I purchased.
Well enough about that, on to the give away! I have had them for some time wondering what to do with them, and thought I will not use these, and lesson learned, at least they should not go to waste.
I have 3 different sets of lams, each having 4 pieces, all approx 1/16" thick, 1.5" wide and 3' long.
As the pic shows there are :
4) juniper
4) maple with one side stained a greenish color
2) maple clear
2) not sure what type.(see pic)
If there are bowyers on here that can give me some info on lams or types of wood or if anyone has questions please let me know, as I don't know alot about them, and not even sure if these are usable.
All put your names in until lets say...Oct. 19th 10:00 PM MST. O Monday, the 20th, I will draw 3 names and send out the lam's!!!!
Take care
Jake
