Good start this season
«
on:
October 08, 2008, 11:06:00 AM »
Started my season last Saturday. Saw lots of turkeys on the morning hunt. Moved to another stand for the evening hunt. Had two does come in. The larger of the two posed broadside at 28 yards and had an encounter with a Wensel Woodsman. First day of my season on a new hunting lease, first deer with a carbon arrow, first deer with a new recurve that I made. Life is good! I hope my good fortune holds out for the rest of the year.

That must be a great feeling taking a deer with a bow you made. Nice job!

Thanks for the compliments. Here are some pics of the bow. It is 58" long and 59# at 29". Limbs are red elm lams with walnut burl veneers. Riser is shedua with purple heart and maple stripe.
