Last evening I got my first deer with traditional gear. A nice big doe. It truly was the best hunt that I have ever had. She was at 13.5 yards. I center punched the heart and got a complete pass through. I was amazed at what the snuffers did to her. The best part is that I got the whole thing on video, I will post the video once I get my computer working right. Anyways, here is the story quickly. My little brother(the videographer) and I got in the stand late, around 5:30 pm. We were settled in around around 5:35 pm. We are set up on a small buckwheat plot that is surrounded by really thick grapevines. At around 5:45 I heard something off the right, but assumed it was just more chipmunks. The woods is so thick here that you can see into it at all. I caught movement off to my left and caught a doe entering the field. My brother spotted it just intime to get the camera running. She was at 13.5 yards and I hit about two inches lower than I wanted to, but still center punched the heart. I knew I had made a good shot, but gave her about 25 minutes. My dad, mom, sister, and nephew came out to help track. Even with a heart shot, she still went over 200 yards.

Anyways, here is a picture. I will try to post the video if I can download it.

Yep it is a zipper. I shot one last February, which was about when I began shooting a recurve, and knew I had to have one. I bought this bow used on stickbow in July and love it. The rest of my set up is Carbon Express Heritage with 125 screw in snuffers, three pink feathers and white wraps shot out of a 55#@28" Zipper recurve.
