New to me Super Shrew
« on: October 09, 2008, 10:29:00 PM »
Picked up a used Super Shrew with the help of some fellow Tradgangers. Thanks guys!!!

The bow is 54" 56-58# at my draw length, wich is perfect. Ithas a layer of red glass between the belly lam. I LOVE IT!! Quick, smoooth, pretty quiet without any silencers. I have'nt messed with the brace height yet. Its about 7 3/8 right now. I think I'm actually gonna have to go up in spine about 10 lbs on my arras, the ones I shoot out of a couple of 60 and 55 lb bows seem weak.

This bow is gonna help me with the wait for the one I have on order with Ron (or make me order another I'm so impressed!)

Are you gonna pass this one on when your new Shrew comes?     :bigsmyl:

I'll have to wait to answer that Fletcher. I seem to have developed a bow disorder. I like to think of it as a collection, but my wife seems to think I'm a bowaholic. I try to tell her the 3-d shoots are the meetings for this affliction.

Congratulations.  Ron usually suggests 10-15 pounds over bow draw wieght for spine.  Good luck with your new bow.  I have great luck with Easton Axis 400 cut to 29.5" drawn to 28 3/4 and at about 58-59# at my draw. 200 grain points.

Greg, does it have the original skinny 450+ string on it?

Not sure how to judge the material. Its a two bundle, 6 strands total. Looks skinny. Light brown and black. The string is in excellent shape, but I think Im gonna give you a call and order another. One time I accidently nicked a string while hunting and cut a few strands, ending a trip early, a good ways from home. Ever since I've always carried an extra.
