Thanks for all the input. Probably like most of you money is tight. Trying to make a good decsion on what would be best for the dollar and my needs. Great input and a great site.

Something else to consider if you are talking take-down bows, is that it is common to see Bob Lee limbs for sale on the classified sites.   I have bought and sold numerous sets of both longbow and recurve limbs over the years.

I've never shot a Checkmate take-down but they sure are good looking bows and I've heard they are good shooters too.  

I'm a die-hard Bob Lee fan myself.  I've owned some nice bows  but none have replaced my Bob Lee's as my "go to" bows.
