ordered a new dryad orion
« on: October 15, 2008, 10:11:00 PM »
well, the check for the deposit on my new orion will go out in the mail in the am, it all started when Brent Rudolf of blackmountain bows and I were talking about doing a turkey hunt next spring at his place in WV, but I dont have a td bow, so then I told my parents that I needed a new td bow for this hunt, they said since I kept my grades up as promised that I could get it as in early christmas gift(wont get here till just after christmas anyways), so I asked Brent what is a good static tipped td recurve, he said the Dryad Orion, so after talking to Mike(wingnut) at Dryad bows, I now have a Dryad Orion on order

birdseye maple riser with goncalo alves swoop
clear glass
tokin bamboo cores
58in
53@29

now the hard part comes, the wait!

I predict you will be most happy and impressed with your new Orion.  Awesome bows and one of the best deals out there IMHO.  Mine is 58" and 50@28 and will flat out blister an arrow.

I ordered mine at comptons and picked it up from mike and jason in July.  I love it  It is smooth fast and quiet. Also very good looking.  ONly use the provided bow stringer and not your old bow stringers. The static tips can be twisted if your not careful. I almost screwed mine up with a junck bow stringer.

What is a gorgeous bow!

I also have an Orion on order Osage with some highly figured Bubinga. Can not wait to she how she turns out.

Mike and Jason turn out some fine looking bows that shoot great.

Can not wait to see there one piece recurve also.

I just asked Mike for a really dense piece of wood because I like a heavy riser.  I also wanted something dark.  This is what he came up with.  What a guy!

I have been considering selling to raise some money (trying to move and won't likely get to hunt this year) but you guys just keep reminding me how much I really love this bow.
