Just picked up a dandy of a bow on a trade

I just picked up a Schafer Silvertip on a trade the other day, now I need to learn how to shoot it! Could anybody suggest an instructional book on traditional shooting?
Just in case you were wondering why I dropped the dime and got a Schafer as a first bow:
I got one heck of a deal on it. I traded a $700 dollar gun for it.

Luck has nothing to do with it, just Boot leather and a GWP.

You can send it to me and I will send some pictures to show you how to shoot trad. I can also send instinctive shooting and instinctive archery for you to read while you wait for a new bow.LOL
Lets see some pictures.
I have been trying to buy one and they dry up.
I will find a nice one someday.

"Archery Steps to Success", written by two college archery coaches as a text, was one instructional book I enjoyed...good luck and have fun with her.

awww, you went and spoiled all the fun though. Most folks have to go through dozens of other bows before they find out the Schafer is the best recurve made!
:D
Just out of curiosity, is it a Paul of Dave made bow? What's the specs?

Dave made the bow. It's a 57# at 28 1/4" I believe the bow is 58" though I haven't measured it. I might be able to get some pics up this weekend. It's drilled and tapped for a quiver on the riser. Could somebody suggest one that would look right on it?

it depends on the holes that are tapped. if there's 2 holes in the upper half of the riser about 1 inch apart, then it's tapped for a Kwicky quiver. If it's one in the top half, one in the bottom, almost any side mount quiver will work. I have a thunderhorn 5 arrow on mine and love it.

I have a Browning w/scope that is worth $1,000.
I'm also trying to sell or trade all my Rifles/Shotguns, so I can buy more Bows. Just enjoy this sport more. Duane
