I gotta say one that bugs me is "if it's legal it's ethical".  It stems from a clip somebody sent me thinking since I'm a hunter I would appreciate it, of a guy shooting a bedded deer from like 900 yds away from some kind of adjustable seat sniper rifle mess. Don't know if that was even legal but it almost made me puke. of course they were hootin' and hollerin' about it. Maybe it's me but that didn't seem too ethical. (ps I own a rifle)

I have heard most all the stuff you guys mention.

Now I see other hunters; and when they ask me what I have seen; I tell them that I have seen a lot of young bucks; but nothing mature; and that I only shoot does and mature bucks.

Of course I shoot what I want; but it sets them back a bit.

 When a neighbor gunned down a 9 point; I said - 'that's a good management buck'.

When they shoot a small buck - or a nice buck I always say 'I wonder what it would have grown to look like next year' ; or 'I had several chances to shoot that buck; wondered if it was old enough: too bad in a way'.

Or 'too bad your not strong enough to pull back a bow'.

 yep I am a risk taker  :)

by the way if you are in a truck with others; always grab the door seat; yes its the 'gateboy' seat; but when your going through traffic or a town; everytime you reach down to 'tie your boots'; it looks like all your buddies are sitting together real close like ..... 'real buddies'.   :D

" you need at least 70lbs to blow through a deer"
that one made me laugh, especially comin from a guy more than 40 years old, and 2 years of archery expirience,

" I know what I'm doin"
thats comin from a compound kid at bass pro that cant hit the 6" circle at 20 yards to save his life

" that would barely kill a rabbit"
that was from a guy at the range that judged my 47lb recurve

and the one that piss's me off the most

" How would you like it if the Animal shot the pointy arrow at you?!"

uhg....

there are just so many posers and idiots out there     :banghead:

"it hit it a bit back, but it was a GREAT liver hit"
"i made the HARVEST"  that one always confused me.  i thought they killed a der, not picked an ear of corn...?
"it was a lower percentage shot, but ya gotta take em sometimes"  i never saw anyone sitting there MAKING them shoot.

"What did he score?"  (I can barely count to 10. Im probably going to cut the antlers up to make pens or knife handles anyway..)

"The deer aren't getting anything to eat because of the hogs eating up everything." (Yeah, because hogs and deer eat the exact same viddles, huh?)

I am just trying to enjoy my hunting the way that I like and have tried to avoid other hunters that choose to do it their way. I don;t need themor their opinions about bows sights or whatever. I canceled my outdoor channel. just couldn't take it anymore.A trip to bass pro and cabelas yesterday just disgusted me. I've killed over 100 deer in my life and never once have I needed a trail camera, cocaine or a butt hole remover.people actully buy those things. makes me wonder how I ever killed a deer before." not bad for a trad bow "is a quote that drives me nuts by people that should know better. Sorry to rant, just enjoy your way of hunting and let others enjoy their way. Be glad we live in a country where we can hunt and choose how we do it.  Lets enjoy it while we can.

"I'm accurate enough to go hunting.  It's not like a tournament or anything."

"Oh I practice a lot.  I started almost a month ago."

Wow I see I have not been the only one that seems to have been boiling inside those are all some darn good replies, I sure did not mean to start a rant though, sorry.  But like so many said "Do it the way it makes you happy, and avoid the cancers that plague are great sport!"

I hear this all the time!! but seriously I hate when people say you hunt with that thing?? Or when people say "Smoke" or "Whack" to describe the shot.

"I must have hit that empty void just above the lungs"
And how about "I borrowed a bow from a friend gonna try bowhunting this year." borrowed a bow 2 weeks before season opened and had never shot a bow before!

Traditional hunting is more than just taking the wheels off your bow and removing your camothen buying a funky looking hat. . Drives me nuts to hear or read threads by guys arguing about what is or what is not traditiional.

while practising with wheel archers after they shoot a real tight group- "thats good shooting hey" or "see that shot" after they've hit the bull at 50m. i think to myself, "give me that bow and 4 days practise, i could do it to". this recently from a mate who has just started shooting wheels- "i can shoot a 9" group at 60m!"
here's one- "i'm going trad next year". to that i think to myself, "well if you start now you'll be ready to hunt trad next year". got to get some more kills in before they switch i suppose.

ahh, vented.
