Sent the PMO for my ACS CX
« on: March 02, 2007, 09:41:00 PM »
The much awaited email came tonight; and there is an ACS CX, 49@28 with an Osage riser ready to be boxed up and shipped to me. It is time for a celebratory cocktail!

Bjorn,
I am really curious, how long were you on "the list"?  I really respect all you guys waiting for your bows.  Congrats and I hope it shoots really well for you.    dino

And we do want to see some pics on delivery too.

Dino I was on the list for three years plus. They 'lost' me once but fortunately I had the original emails as back up ordering the two bows.

Nope, another week now. They had problems with a bunch of limbs coming out over weight. Your limbs are in my window so you are one of the lucky dogs.

I got mine yesterday with two sets of limbs. 64inch 52@29 and 62inch 49@29. Of course, I have been shooting it inside tonight. With the riser cut past center, I have to shoot arrows with more spine than I normally use. After the first night, my heavy limbs are liking the axis 340 spine with 200 gr head. It will shoot the 526gr arrow 178ft/sec.

Got mine a couple of days ago. 62",60#@28" aluminum riser. WOW, does this thing shoot. I cannot shoot groups or I would spend a fortune buying new arrows. 75/95 GT with 100 gr brass insert and 200 gr point fly like darts as do 55/75 with 200 gr up front and even the heavy CT Safaris with 200 gr up front. I shoot this bow better than any bow I have ever owned. If they got any heavier limbs I am getting some.

It has been just over three years-seems like a long time-but it wasn't like an 'order'-there was no money down. So I put my name in for 2 bows figuring I would probably like them-just based on the hype and the fact that there is little doubt that OL is the man of this period in trad archery. Never seen one except in pics and never shot one-yet. Pics and a full report will follow on arrival

I still have a "Plain ol' ACS" ("Somebody Special") that I love better than any bow I have ever shot (3 years or so now) and I have shot a slug of bows - every one I can get my hands on. (Pleanty of pics of mine on my site, in both the Gallery Pages and the Traditional Bows Drawn Pages). I have really shot a slug of various bows too (old, new, fancy, and plain) and a lot that I liked awfully darned well - but none that I liked any better than mine. I have to say the closest in appeal, for me, have been a ACS CX and an ACS Metal Riser - and I am not kidding one tiny bit, and have truly been fair in my assesments. I also liked a certain Hummingbird LongBow, from right here in NC, almost as well, and think a lot of my 21st century too.
