Bow handle wear
« on: October 30, 2008, 06:59:00 AM »
Does it make any difference if a wood riser handle has a rubber or leather grip vs bare wood as far as your hand wearing on the grip?

Thanks,
Boomer

I prefer mine bare wood.  I try like heck to wear it out, but so far all I have done is polish it up a bit!  I don't think you can hurt them through normal use, and if you do end up needing to get it refinished the whole bow will probably need it by that time with other scuffs and scrapes.

I do like just the wood feel in my hand for whatever reason.Just kind of feels natural. But with that said I would also like to add I do love shooting my 1950's recurves with leather grips....So I guess whatever feels best to you......bowdoc
