Missed last night
« on: October 30, 2008, 11:04:00 AM »
Well I finally seen a deer last night and got two yes two shots at and I missed. I can soot 3-d all day long but when it comes down to the real deal I blow it. The first shot it a little twig and deflected and the second one hit a tree right in front of his Vidal's that I swear was not there when I shot.

I almost shot last night but she when in the open had her rear end facing me and when broadside nothing but brush covering the pump station.  Had the juices puming though.  Hang in there and pick a spot.

It happens pal. Those trees can jump out and grab your arrows. I'm sure we have all had a twig or two jump out and swat our arrows. Keep at it. Tripper

Frustrating!  Keep smiling and keep at it.  At least you are seeing deer.   ;)

Got watch out for those moving trees. One of the best shots I know was hunting with me a few years back and had an arrow bounce off a limb into the ham of a 10 point whitetail. As luck would have it he cut the femoral artery and he recovered the deer after an easy tracking job. He was sick about the hit but happy with the deer. It happens to the best of us. Keep your head up and your arrows sharp. You'll get another chance. Just be ready.
