arrow for 45#

I'm looking for opinions on a hunting shaft size. The bow 45# at 27 inches. Will be shooting 125gr. broadhead. I'm interested in all opinions on shaft materials, too.

I shoot beman 500's. Pretty happy with it.

but my tips are 250. why so low point weight? how heavy are your shafts? are you sure you're hittin 10 gpp?

I have the same set up and use 1916 alum. Excellent flight and weigh 475gr.

i use beeman 500's with a 125gr magnus 2 blade stinger....i use a 100 grain brass insert though.

I shoot a 45# bow and a 55# bow, I use Gold-Tip traditions 3355's they work great! You can use brass inserts and get about as heavy as you want.
I have also been experimenting with 2213 aluminum's  I shoot them at the heavier weighted bow range.

goldtip 3555's, easton epic 500's with the 4" feathers, and eason legacy 2117's all work good for me.  In theory the 2117's should be too stiff for 45#, but they bareshaft well from my 45# bow.  Theyre 12gr/in... a 29in shaft weighs 348gr plus 32 grains for the nock/insert and a 125gr broadhead brings the total weight to 505gr..good hunting arrow in my book. Whatever works from your particular bow is whats best    ...let us know what you find out.

I forgot...dont rule port orford cedars out... they shoot great and are a hoot to make. 3rivers.com has a test kit of like 6 arrows (?) in different spines.  When u find out which spine range shoots best, then shell out the bucks on a dozen that are right for your bow.

I'm shooting a #45 Bear Grizzly, I use GT3555's cut 29" with a 50gr brass insert and 145 grain point that's a 115 gr Zwickey with a 5/16 long adapt and glue it then comes out to 145. the whole shooting match weighs 450 grains pass trough's are common now

I am shooting 45# at 27in also on an older recurve made by my dad.  I shoot 29 inch 2016 aluminums with a 125gr head and an extra 100gr using the pdp weight system.  Arrows weigh 585gr.  Not the fastest but they fly real nice.  The 1916's fly good too without the extra weight, but I got them just recently and didn't want to change everything a week before the season.  I have a nice set of matched cedars that weigh in at 515gr w/125gr head that work well too.

I enjoy shooting the stuffed Vapor2000s the best.

GT 35/55s and Blackhawk Vapor 2000's work great for me.  It's hard to beat the deal Sipsey River has on the Vapors, 35$ / dozen shafts the last time I checked.

I shoot CE150's, 29.5", 200 grain broadhead out of a 45# Martin Hunter.

Used 125 g broadheads on the same arrow out of my 46# Dalaa.
