tampons work great for scent wicks. Seems like common sense to me, either pay 4.99 for a package of 3 scent wicks or buy a box of unscented tampons for 2 bucks

Fred Trost used a variety of scents  that included his urine that he collected in a two litre drink bottle, ammonia and some other scents. Found Buck stop was the least effective scent of all!!!

Be nice to find the information and will be interesting to see the pics from "adkmountainken's" experiment.

I try to keep my hunting simple, I hunt where the does are when the rut hits...

I have tried peeing in scrapes this year and it works.  A guy on another forum i go to got me and others tryin this.  He had many trail cam pics from last year and all he did was pee in them, but he did put on rubber gloves to clear the leaves and such from the scrap so as not to leave sent from his hands, also turn cam off before peeing.  I did it this year and have had deer comming to the scrapes.

I made a fake scrape this morning bent over a sapling tied it down to 4 ft off the ground, cleared the leaves with a stick and took a pee in it. We will see in a couple days.

i think the Wensel brothers used tampons in the "old days" if my memory is correct...they weren't "new"..and they had pretty good success! Maybe one of them is listening.

ok, went back over and changed the settings for better pic's and video.  here is a pic of the scrape at the base of a pine tree. the pine tree also has a large, fresh rub that he has hit twice in the last week. i "refreshed" the scrape again.

I just lightened up the second one in my software and it's a buck. The first one is a big doe from the looks of it.

yup, i did the same. wish i had a view of his rack. it is a really small piece of woods 50 arcres or so bordered by houses and 1 farm so it should be a great study area with the trail cam unless of course i get a shot at our host!

I just messed with it some more Ken. He appears to be a small six. He has forks on the ends with very short brow tines.
