If we have the cabin for Fri. and Sat. nights then until 2 pm or so on Sun. we will need to come up with $270. What do you all think? I think we can do it.

Are we thinking: breakfast and lunch from your own stocks and a group feed for supper Saturday??
Joe, will they cook the fish? Or is it a; "they prepare / we cook" kinda thing?

As we get closer, can someone post a number as to how many folks plan to utilize the cabin? If it is going to be too crowded, I could go ahead and rent a motel room close by. You all might appreciate that anyway! If my wife is to be believed, I tend to snore a little...o.k. alot! Mike

If we go the fish route it does have to be fried. It comes frozen. I think the place is called 7-k farms.

I vote for the beans as they would be easier to fix and can feed a crowd resonably, plus they will keep you warm at night   :scared:    :scared:    :bigsmyl:

uhh, you planning to sleep outside are ya??...LOL

I like the beans or even chili idea...cornbread works either way!!
A few crockpots and either, or, can be had. Jiffy cornbread would make it simple or, does Wally world have it ready-to-eat?
Simple to set up and walk away from that way.
Be off-line for a few days.
Ya'll have fun plannin'....

I'd just get the cabin for Saturday night.  You're closing in on $300 and if my experience serves as an indicator, fewer than half of those who are saying they will be there now will actually be able to make it.  No fault of their own, life just happens.  Like I said earlier, I'm in for $20 one way or another but I won't be sleeping in the cabin on Saturday night just because of my own "life happens" stuff  :)

I'd do a stew or some other simple thing.  Frying a bunch of fish is a pain.  Let's hunt, not cook.

I will definitely keep everyone updated on how many are planning to be in the cabin. I will go by checks sent to me if you would include a note saying how many will be in your group. Even those not sleeping there could contribute some $ because we will be using it for meals, warmth, etc.

Crock pots by all means! "Let's hunt, not cook".

I plan to use stone points on cane arrows and I'm not sure on some carbons.

I usually carry a bunch of heads for small game.
I like modified Woodsmans the most, then Ace Hex then Judos. I shoot both woodies and carbons with all heads.

I like nutters too.  Go down to walmart and get some 3/8" dowels.  Put a nock and a couple feathers on one end.  Stick a heavy nut on the other end and you are set.  Less than a buck.  You don't care if you lose them and they won't hurt the dogs.  It is a slight miracle if I hit a running bunny any way.
