Another Buck Down

Got lucky again tonight. Took a buck in Indiana a few weeks ago, then started hunting Ohio.
Made a poor shot on this one. He was hard-quartering away at 20 yards and I hit back and got the femoral artery. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good!

Nice buck. Femoral artery is a good shot. I know I will ruffle a few feahers here, but I shot a doe like that once in Alberta because the shot glanced off a branch just infront of her and she didn't go 50 yards on a dead run. She piled up and their wasn't a cup of blood in her.
Now I wasn't aiming there, but it left a blood trail like no other I had witnesed before.

P.S. there is a rumour they are going to open up Elk here next year...I hope I get drawn

Look at the neck on him. The smaller bucks were chasing all over the woods this morning. It was quite a show!
