XX75 spine help
« on: November 06, 2008, 02:30:00 AM »
I'm looking at trying out some XX75's for the first time.  I've looked at every easton chart,  the arrows by kelly chart, done searches here.  Still not sure what I need.  I picked up a couple 30" 2117 and a couple 31" 2219 fall stalkers to mess with.
I'm shooting these out of a 50# @ 28 Bear Super Kodiak recurve with ff.  I have a draw of 29 1/2.  I would like to shoot a 30" to 31" arrow with a 150g screw in WW.  I think I might need a 2018 or 2020 from some of the charts.  What would you XX75 arrow shooters suggest for my set up with 150 up front.

Either the 2018 or 2020 will work with a longer draw I would think.A heavier BH wil l weaken spine some. Good luck.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Another good choice is a 2215 for either a 30" or a 31" arrow. Since your draw is 29.5", be careful with a 30" arrow. If you draw a little too far back, say around 30" on your initial draw before you settle at 29.5", your finger knuckle might get cut by the rear of the WW since your knuckle is going to stick out 1/2" in front of the shelf as you hold the bow at full draw. I would go with the 31" arrow.

2016/2018 you're right at the edge between the two.

Which would you recommend for a 55# recurve 29" draw? Sorry to hijack but I can't figure those charts out either.

Benha,

You didn't give your point weight and you also didn't give what length your arrow is cut at.
