Ground Blinds??
« on: November 07, 2008, 07:38:00 PM »
Never hunted from a ground blind.  Are they light weight and portable?  Easy set up?  I guess what I'm asking are they easy to use and how mobile can you be if you have one.

Thanks, Paul

I got a pop-up.  Used it once and sold it.  I hunt because I love to be in the woods.  When I was in the pop-up I felt very removed.  Just did not like it.

I have a DB matrix, it weighs around 20# about the same as a climbing tree stand. They set up in a matter of minutes and can be very effective. If your going to buy one spend the money on a good one from the start I like Double Bull but there ore other good brands, the hub design seems to be the best for quick setups. You cant beat them on a cold rainy day and they work good on deer and are deadly for turkeys, they offer you freedom of movement without detection from the game your after.

I have a DB T5 pro staff. Had my wife time me twice. 11 seconds first time and 7 seconds second time. That was in the house and not in a woods setting were being quiet would be more important. The point I wanting to make was houw fast and easy they set up.

This is the one I use. It is very big, sets up easily and costs about $150 shipped. Shoot thru mesh all the way around. Weighs 23#
