I grew up on Army posts, and when I was about 8 years old, my Master Sergeant dad got me a fiberglass longbow, pulling about 20 pounds at my draw. Lots of lizards and birds caught hell on the desert of Ft. Bliss, and I occasionally scared a west Texas jackrabbit with it. This was my start in 'traditional' bowhunting, which was just bowhunting back then.
I had a 4 year hiatus in the 'Green Machine', but right after getting out of the Army I got a Bear Grizzly, which was the demise of some rabbits, an armadillo or two, and no deer.
What does this traditional bowhunting thread have to do with Veterans Day? My dad, a career soldier and combat vet of WW2, got me started with traditional archery.
To all our veterans and particularly those on this forum, have a great Veterans Day, and thank you for your service to this great country.
