Hungarian Horse Bows?
«

Does anybody use or know of Hungarian horse bows being used to hunt game? I live in Romania and Hungary being just next door offer Horse Bows at nearly all hunting stores at prices far lower then American brand name bows which they also stock. This would be my first bow, as i`ve limited funds the price of these bows is within my budget. Any comments or advice is greatly appreciated.

I have heard, just like here in the USA, there are brands to "stay away from", okay ones, good ones, and likely great ones. I can't say which ones are in each category. There were some posts some time ago regarding them, but not much. I was interested in them when I first started due to my ancestory, and will likely check them out in the future.
If you are able to find out much, let us know too.

Lucas Novotny is a Hungarian bowyer living here in the U.S. his website is salukibow.com. he makes only horse bows, some fiberglass backed, some with real sinew. i have not shot one but those who own them insist they are the best of the best. a good horsebow is no different than a typical recurve in terms of hunting. go for it!

Lukus at SALUKI ARCHERY makes some of the smoothest and fastest bows i have shot. I have three have used them for five years have not connected but that is not the bows fault they shoot where you look , and I have to learn to look in right place . Lukus spends alot of time overseas doing exibitions . You may be close to a show this coming year check his web site .
