"The Bed of my Truck that is"....
"Stay tuned for more"
This Is whats left of the Arrow....
OK....
The rest of the story....
The other two arrows belong to Rooster, He has his own story.
You guys know me and this is Nov. so that means Beaver season started....
You can see from the picture that I got a Big one first off this year....
This Beaver measured 45" from nose to end of tail, and we estimate that it weighs 65#
The Beaver was a close shot, We spotted him and then lost him in some Weeds and then we spotted just his head sticking up in the weeds,He was only a few feet away from the Boat when I shot him just behind the right ear....
Then he started his Deathe roll and splashing all over, I was affraid we where going to lose him....
So I had Mr.Chuck get closer to him as I was leaning over the bow of the Boat trying to reach Him....All I could see was feet sticking up out of the water so I grabed one, hopeing for a back foot, it was a front I found out after I pulled him Gruntin from the water half up on the Boat, This is when I found out he was a Big one, I about got a hernia pulling him from the water....
It's kinda scary when ya pull one half up on the Boat and his head is laying across your arm and the Beaver is giving his death gasp of air and his mouth is moving while it's laying on your arm....
As you can see from where the shaft was Broken that it was a head shot....He rolled and broke the shaft right behind the Broadhead....
Sat. nights hunt was a good one, water flat as glass and a full Moon...teamp in the 40's
Low tide was around 22:30 we got there an hr and a half early, so it was a slow start, the Beaver for somereason are more active at low tide....
Just as the action started getting good, we had to leave, Mr.Chuck the captain of the boat had to be in another town at 0400 for a Coyote Hunt....
Butt we will be back, we have 5 months to Hunt them....
The Brown Water Patrol is Back in the Delta....
Just to let ya know, this was my first Beaver Hunt with a Recurve, I used my Legends Mountain Recurve 48# @ 29" Broadhead was a Grizzly 125....and Aluminum arrows.
