There is an ad I see in TBM all the time but I've never bought from them. I keep thinking I will sometime. Carl Dyer's

Arrow Mocs are the best value for quality.  Google them.

You might look into Russell's also. I've owned a pair or two as well as the Dyers back when they were Walter Dyer in the seventies. The Dyer's are incredibly tough and well made but- like any smooth bottomed moc- slicker than ice. Russell and other quality outfits usually offer some selection in sole materials- Russell's Bowhunter boot with the plantation crepe sole is incredibly quiet. Good luck       Grant

I'm making my own out of horse hide.  Arrow Mocs are about the right price but the others - Whew, too much $$$$$.

Ha!  O.L., I was thinking about the same thing.  On level ground for a stalk, they'd be the ticket but wet leaves and or mud on a slope and just the idea scares me.  I'm sure there's a place for them but I'd probably prefer something closer to ankle high that was real soft and could be carried in a pack without taking up too much space for just the right stalking situation.  On the other hand, I already have too many things in my pack that I don't use most days afield.....  Now, if they were so thin that you could dig your toes in on a slope they'd probably do ok but not when it's very cold outside.

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

Put a pair of thick wool socks over your boots when it's time to get sneaky. Easy to pack, easy to slip on, and works like a charm.

Stole the idea from Fred Bear.

I used to have a pair but they would not stay up. They look nice but not very useful.

I posted this a while ago, but the stalking boots from sportsmans guide are imho the best all around stalking shoe.  Not waterproof like the claim, but still a great value and awesome feel.  Last I saw they were on sale for 24.99!!  Definitely try them, you will not be disappointed.  Those and a ghillie make you near invisible.
