tapered vs parallel shafts
« on: March 05, 2007, 01:25:00 PM »
For those who shoot tapered shafts can you tell me what the benefits are in shooting these over parallel shafts?

Thanks,
Joe

They recover a bit faster than parallel shafts do. It will allso give you a bit of FOC right off the bat the helps with flight. Look at the how-to there is a good gig to sand them yourself. Lots of info on here about them try a search.
Zen without realization of the body is empty speculation. If I could only stop dropping the BOW!!!!!!

I just lov'em.  I think the FOC is more important than the recovery which I believe is due to the minor clearance some say off the shelf.

I like them, and will probably continue to buy them because of my addiction; but frankly I have not noticed the difference if everything else is set up properly.
I don't shoot aluminum or carbon; are they tapered in the last 10 or so inches?

I just made up my first set of arrows from tappered shafts that I bought from 3R.
I'm never shooting parallel shafts again.
I also now have some Grizzly sticks on the way.
You can guess why I bought them over other Carbon shafts,,,,,and it wasn't wheight.
Cheers.

What kind of weight do you get with less shafts considering they have had wood removed?
