Too many choices! Need some pics please.
« on: November 23, 2008, 09:17:00 AM »
Hello,

Been looking at various woods for veneers.  Wondering if anyone has any pics of bows with lighter colored woods stained darker.  Most maple, hickory, ash limb veneers is see are often in their natural color.  Anyone have any pics of curly hickory or figured, curly ash or maple stained.  Thanks in advance.

Curly Etimoe on a Shrew

Myrtle riser and limbs

This is brand new Osage that Gregg darkened a little, and will get darker.

Flat sawn Yew is very nice too.

That Tamo Ash has not been stained either.  It darkens quite a bit just from the epoxy.

The Tamo Ash is on a Shrew Recurve that Java Man (Gregg Coffee) made for me last summer.  It is an amazing looking wood.
