Feather size?
« on: November 23, 2008, 08:13:00 PM »
Ok, is 5 inch shield cuts going to be to small on 85-89 spine arrows? Should I go to 5.5" ones? I have always shot 5 inch, but what diiference is there really going to be? Thanks Flint

If you have the spine correct for the bow, it will not make any difference. If the spine is not exact, then the longer feathers will be better.

Well if the arrows are tuned well 5" feathers should be fine.I used to shoot 5.5 shield, parabolic and bananna. But have gone down to 5",more so because getting into Hill bows and I shoot them at a lower brace height. But I burn most of my feathers and burn a high back 5" shield or parabolic. But 5.5 feathers will seem to straighten out flight quicker, but I don't think they drag an arrow down that much especially at most traditional distances.Unless you plan on shooting 35-40 yds.
