Help with bow identity
« on: November 25, 2008, 05:04:00 PM »
A friend called me and said he bought a kool looking bow at a garage sale that needed a string. When he brought it over I was shocked to see a bow like this. Its a 3 pc. aluminum handled/limbed bow!! It has silver riser/gold limbs made by the GRIMES ARCHERY CO. in Pontiac,Mich. It can be shot R or L and is a 56" bow.The limbs sweet slightly back then about 2" from tip sharply bend forward. My question is...how old & is this a static recurve, recurve,or LB?? And what would be the string length?? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!

Pete, from what I have learned about bow's like that "DONT SHOOT IT". They were pron to break. I'd say it's just a wall hanger.

One of the first 3 pc take downs ever built.Cool bows.I've had several of them and have shot a couple.I did not think they shoot all that good or all that bad whichever. They were pron to breaking and also would take a set if left strung for long periods of time.bowdoc
