Missed a deer , hit a duck
« on: December 01, 2008, 10:03:00 PM »
Now the rest of the story. Early season started slow and hot not many deer seen. I finally found a good spot on the WMA close to my house. After hunting one mourning I tried stillhunting some pines. I was working up a trail slowy when I heard something running at me. A little doe came in and stopped at 7 yards. I was at full draw when she stopped broadside and I released   :banghead:  (note to self pick a spot)the arrow hit a tree behind her.   "[dntthnk]"
Well friday I got out the flu flu and small game arrow to have some fun. With rabbit, tree rat and duck season open I worked my way around the field. When I got to the creek there were three duck sitting on a log. They spoted me as I drew my bow and started to take off. I came to full draw, picked a spot( see note worked) and released. Much to my surprise the duck hit the water with my arrow in it.  :D

I guess if we run into the bear that is making these tracks, we oughta just get off the trail.......He seems to like it!

Mental note: Start hunting flying deer.   :jumper:

By the way, congrats on the duck. That's very cool. I'd have to take that one to the taxidermist.
