I've had my hands on the Sitka Gear and it's great, except I'd have to auction my kids on **** to afford it. A few years ago I picked up the cabelas revolution fleece pullover and cargo pants out of the bargain hunter sale mag. It's got their "gore-tex" and scent lok lining. I only paid something $175 for the getup and it's treated me pretty well. Keeps the rain out and the scent in and it wont break the bank.
Is it September yet?!

I think you would be real happy with the Cabela's MICROTEX, the best pants I own and probably all I'll wear until something better comes along.

Rain gear, Riverswest or Peterstorm. Your primary layer is most important, I use Filson long underwear. Good wool hat and good wool socks. Ron Laclares Long Hunter Shirt, you will stay warm.

Sitka is coming out in ASAT,and they made some great improvements to an already great product!

That said, Cabelas micro-tex is great stuff and very affordable....

Wool.  I tend to use KOM and Autumnwood most, but Weatherby is making some good stuff for half the price.  Check it out.  Also, nothing wrong with good old wool plaids made by Bean, Woolrich, etc.

i just gave the sitka gear a work out on a hog hunt in south texas and it performed great. didn't stop the cacti, but i was quiet, blended in well. the thorns and stickers did not tear or pick the fabric at all. i gave it an A+.

Another vote for Cabela's Microtex, especially in the Outfitter pattern.  If you're looking for cold weather gear, the Cabela's Berber Fleece is awesome in the same pattern.

Hit the local Good Will store and stock up on "earth-toned" 100% Wool sweaters for layering underneath anything that you do buy.

OK.....So I'm "cheap" LOL!!!!! You can get away with a light shirt or jacket in your favorite "pattern" or "material" then "layer-up" with wool sweaters as the season progresses and the temperature gets colder.

I have ruined more hunting clothes over the years than I can remember,I just can't bring myself to pay top dollar for hunting clothes anymore.I buy all of my hunting clothes off the clearance rack,50% to 75% off.

With a pair of cotton camo cargo pants,1 or 2 wool sweaters, and a long-sleeve camo T-shirt over top,I'm good till the snow flys
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

There is a fine line between Hunting, & Sitting there looking Stupid...

One of my uncles hits gun shows around the country and he told me that the best camo he has ran into is this military grade gortex with a carbon lining.  It has almost twice the carbon in it that the kind you get from the bigger chain stores and you can pick it up at almost a quarter the price of the other stuff.  I think you can pic up a pair of pants for around 40 bucks and a shirt/jacket is around 40 too.  I also think they have a website where you can order it, but I am having a little trouble finding it.  I also really like the 3D shag camo for ground hunting.  You can find that stuff fairly cheap on the net.  Let me look around and I will see if I can find some web addresses for you.
