Refreshing the soul.
« on: March 07, 2007, 11:15:00 AM »
After a long time sitting at the work bench and staying in from the cold. I figured it was about time to come back to my senses and go to the woods. Nothing seems to be quite like a good walkabout in the cool crisp air of mother nature. I grabbed a few items given to me as gifts from trad gang members to keep me company, grabbed my pipe and tobacco and ran for the woods. This walk served several purposes, soul searching, relaxing, and looking for sheds. One trad gang member will be getting something from this walk. As it was a pretty cool find. Frank you should be able to put some blades on these antlers. And Bernie here's a picture for your drawing a bow back site...

Mr. Vic, that's a cool pic. Mind if I use it as my center piece on my desktop for a while?

Thanks.  4runr go ahead if so desired. Probably be a good rodent deterent also. Wood Butcher I just Found just the head, probably hit by a car and yotes drugg it to where i found it. As it smelled, if you ever smelled a coyote scent post? Usally in Iowa it's the other way around, find a deer with the head missing. This deer is about a twin to one a neighbor gave me several months back.

Hey Mr. Vic, that buck wasn't it hit by a car.  I arrowed it up here in Jasper County.  It was a double lung, heart, aorta pass through.  It took off on a South Easterly death run.  Jumped right through Marion County, swam through Lake Red Rock, ran down main street Knoxville, Skirted Ottumwa where I lost the blood trail and must have eventually ended up in your stumpin' grounds! Those Iowegian White Tails is really tuff!

ok, I'm lying...     :D

Nice plains quiver you've got there.  Don't even have to ask if you made it.  Nice job. I might be giving you a call for pointers and help once I get my hide back from WB's

thp, Somehow their is a doubt in my believing that, sorry. But it does make a good yarn for the campfire. But your right about them being tough.                                           I actually didn't make that quiver, can't say who did. But got it in a trade with a good guy on this site way last year when the one i was using went south. Has moose mane around it. It's a little short for me, and not really made for my hunting heads, but good for field points. I have no idea on pointers for a plains style, that's out of my department...The one on my avaitar? or how ever you spell it, was made for me by Blackarrow and is now retired, since my snuffers was a little hard on it.
