I did search this before posting and didn't find any info on this bow    http://www.martinarchery.com/jaguartakedown.php  . Anyone know anything about it.

They obviously noticed Hoyt and others doing well with metal risered bows and have decided to throw their hat in the ring. Will be interesting to see one.

It looks like Widow is still a hold out on the metal riser.     Any bets when they throw their hats?

One big difference, Widow has a couple proven metal recurve risers to work with, and Hoyt understands recurve geometry... not like Martin and PSE who took highly re-flexed compound risers and bolted recurve limbs on them....not a very good combination!

I know nothing of this bow.  This is the first I've heard of it.

I really doubt that Martin assembled this out of spare parts just to have a metal risered recurve.

One difference is Black Widow already tried several different metal riser bows back in the 1970's and dropped them from there line years ago...bd

It looks to me that Martin discontinued their Jaguar line of compound, kept the riser, and stuck some recurve limbs on it.  Looks horrid!

Apex, it's been done before that way. PSE did it and call it the Coyote.

What does it cost?? I had a coyote and took several deer with it my brother took several animals with it, only pigs I think. But not a bad bow it would do 178 fps out of the chrono. The proof is in the puddin.  I did not like it  cause it was heavy. I could shoot 40 yards with it.

Gail Martin has been in the archery business longer the 90% of us have been alive.I'am pretty darn sure Martin understands geometry of a recurve as well as anyone. They are one of the larger archery manufacturing companies around and are not just some guy glueing spear parts together in his garage.Without getting to far off track here thats kind of an insult to Martin and the rest of the hard working folks at Martin Archery and Damon Howatt...sad day when we insult someone for a new idea.Just one mans thoughts.bowdoc

I'm pretty much POSITIVE it IS the same riser as the compound jaguar...but it's been mentioned that Martin probably knows a thing or two about recurve geometry/design.

Maybe we can give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that even though it first appeared on a compound they saw the opportunity make a good metal-riser recurve without having to retool?  Maybe it was the plan all along during the design of the riser?

I do know that Martin's CS is top notch in the compound department.  I've had no dealings with Hoyt though, maybe they're the same. I'd sure buy one from Martin before I did PSE.

bowdoc, you compare the risers. Not an insult, the Warfs are fine shooting bows and use compound risers.

I'm sure Martin has done their homework and not just thrown this bow together. I'll bet it is a good bow that will get the job done. You either like metal risers or you don't. I have both and both have good and bad traits.

I never shot well with a reflexed riser, new design or old.  I like and support Martin and I'm a big fan of cost savings but I'd have to spend some time with this design before saying it's a good one.

I have two of those 1970's BW bows with metal handles, kinda ugly but are 2 of my best bows! One is a 1200, 51# and the other is 1226, #46 & #55 limbs with original case. I took 2 deer this year with the #46 pound limbs and shoot this better than any bow I have. Extremely stable, no hand shock and still fast! Pretty wood just outsold the ugly metal.
