Dan Fitzgerald....makes Rampage buck lure and vanillakilla.....he has a bunch of older videos that are trad....then he switched to a wheelie....still shot instinctive though.
I agree though...it would be nice to see more trad hunting shows.

I think it's the same reason you don't see trad gear in massive amounts at every pro shop...from an economic point of view, trad just isn't a good business venture. Maybe it's the same in television. I suspect that as more people begin to move back to trad, that that'll change, though...

Ya know what lets just keep this a secret. One of the big reasons I left the modern world of archery was to get away from thr commercialized {no speel chek} Industry it turned into. Any good DVDs I can get?

Yep, Let's keep it to ourselves. Wouldn't want the price of wood arrows to go through the roof or overwork our bowyers to much. Plus the price of a custome bow would triple..... Let 'em buy those ugly hunks of metal with wheels for $800-1000 apiece.   :bigsmyl:

Gortex outdoors had a traditional boo hunt on it last night. A single arrow from 10 yards ended the hunt successfully. I think it was Bob Fulkrod dropping the string on a Bear take down curve.

Seems to me the guy on one of the shows shoots Trad (Easton Archery?).  I've seen the guy arrow everything from Brown Bear to Whitetails and he always uses a recurve and he's always holding his recurve when he does the "tip" segment.

Bowspirit hit the nail on the head.  Outdoor shows are sponsor driven...

Seen a 3 rivers add on the outdoor channel this week,,, I was suprised.'

NDTerminator, I've seen him use compounds as well as trad bows on the easton archery show. That guy sure gets around during a season!

Those shows are sponser driven as mentioned above. Is there enough willing trad buis. that would sponser a trad show?

I tend to agree that being a secluded sect of hunters that I would hate to see it become as commercialized as the other shows on TV!   :saywhat:

Kind of as an aside, I have a friend that is probably the biggest/best bowhunting guide/outfitter in ND.  He is featured on MOssy Oaks Classics quite often.

I was out hunting with him in September and asked about that gig.  He said that Cuz Strickland was scheduled to come out to do a show/hunt in a couple weeks.  He also advised he has to PAY THEM rather than the other way around, and the fee is $10,000 each time!!!!!

He said they figure that is fair as the have outfitters lined up to hunt with them and the places they choose get substantial TV exposure/advertising.

Sounds like a shakedown racket to me...

Gary Morris had a show on years ago and he hunted with a selfbow.I think Bryon is working on a new show.I too wish there were more shows on trad hunting but that seems to take money and advertising.Fred on the Easton show use Easton's Axis Full Metal jacket arrows and you here him talk about them, great show too.
