I have killed alot of hogs, and few javeys. I am convinced that the fastest way to put a javey down is to shoot it at the point where the top of the front leg, and the white collar intersect.
Even with a good lung hit, they can cover a lot of ground, and that hair soaks up a lot of blood.
I shot one length wise from front to back, right through the center of his chest. The darn thing ran one hundred and fifty yards, only to pile up in the middle of a prickly pear patch.
Hogs should be hit, low(like African game)right in the "V" of the front shoulder. Just what I have gleaned from killing about twenty of the critters.
