We use dikes to cut the feathers from the bird. Then use a sharp knife or razor blade to cut down the center. My hunting partner then uses a feather grinder like the one 3 rivers sells, have seen some simple ones in the how to section as well I believe. When I get them back I use an easy method to burn them to shape, that I also got off this great site. I have just stripped buy hand sanded using sandpaper and block just the high points and then burned for use.
Trim to width and use scissors to trim close to shape.
Run through torch

fly great make less noise then high back banna.
The nice thing is you want to change your shape a little just sand the wood where needed. If you dont like it only scrap wood is used so its easy to try something else or something oringial.
