Is not just shooting them it is having them on the rack and seeing them and cleaning them that also gives great joy,

I will like to be a one bow man but I think that will never happen, when i go small game hunting i take a small poundage bow , just for getting them out and giving them some time in the field

Vermonster,

Hiding your addiction won't make it go away.  You are among friends, just let it out, and if you are ever cured I'm sure there are people here who would be happy to help you with whatever purging you might deem neccessary.  As for myself, I always try to remain faithful to one companion per season.

I can't tell you how many bows I have right now, I've lost count and still have three I have yet to shoot due to the snow and a couple on the way. We have 48 days of deer season here, and I've been known to hunt two different bows in the same day if the mood strikes me.

I try to keep two all the time, usualy a recurve and a longbow but the last year or so it has been more longbows.

Jon,

Multiple.  Regarding recurves, have 9 right now.  I am like you, have shot a LOT, but the Rick Welch Dakota Hunter, along with the Daala have been tops.

For longbows, have 2, with 4 more on order.  As Horatio said, keeps things interesting.

Good post buddy!

I might be a one bow guy someday but not now.I like too many different kinds of bows to ever shoot just one.I would be happy to just stick to 3 or 4 for the year.  :D

Besides a couple short "experiments" with other bows(and a hunt with my original Silvertip in MT in '06)...it's been my Jack Kempf Kwyk Styks for 12yrs now....

My first one "Timex" 63@28, was built in '97 and Jack built me another one "Cy" 57@28,last year as close as humanly possible (besides the weight)to my first.... Both are tuned to about 9gpp and I can switch between them without a hitch....

"Beware the mad that shoots one bow!!"

I personally think that a guy cannot reach his full potential as an archer if he continually switches bows......

I will never reach my potential as an archer if Curt is correct, because I love to shoot lots of different bows and, therefore, I own a lot of them -- not as many as David Knipes -- but a lot of them!

I am down to one recurve....Rose Oak Tomcat with 48# and 53# limbs and one longbow....54# MOAB. I plan to add a "MOAB to go" at the same weight and call it good. Time from work and the money lost from it has taken alot of the bow buying out of my budget for awhile.

Hey guys,

I have several bows:
Bob Lee Signiture recurve 60# @28"
Schafer Silvertip recurve 62# @28"
Howard Hill Tembo long bow 80# @28"
1/2 doz. lam. & glass long bows of my own make all in the 60# @ 28" range
osage self bow long bow 45# @28"
Yew long bow on the shave horse now.
At this time I only shoot the Silvertip out of respect for Paul. Although we'll have to see what happens with that piece of Yew, I can hear her calling to me.
I guess it may be time to purge.
Anybody wanna buy a bow? I'll figure out how to get some pictures up.
