Field tip frustration
« on: December 29, 2008, 11:37:00 PM »
Why does 3 rivers only have 145 gr field tips,  at 11/32,  when they don't sell broadheads at that weight?

On another note, would a long broadhead, like the Woodsman 125 gr.,  make more flex in an arrow than a 125 gr. short field tip because it's so long?

I need some recomendations for a field tip/broadhead match up for Sitkas, 32.5 stock for starters, with a 47 gr. insert for a 43# @ 28" longbow.

Aprox weight is 450 gr with insert.

All help is very much apreciated!

Thanks heaps,

You better look again, they have field tips from 100 grain to 190 in 11/32nds. Weight is weight, doesn't matter how long the broadhead is. For your arrows, let them a bit long and tune them with either adding a lighter or heavier tip or cutting the shaft shorter a little at a time, depends on which way they need to go.
