Home made stuff... Let's see it!
« on: December 31, 2008, 02:23:00 PM »
Hi guys   :wavey:  !
I'm new here, and new to the sport...
I've been storing the hide off of the first deer I shot and made an armguard last night. I'd like to share the photos with y'all and would love to see pictures of stuff you've made! So far I've looked at photos of home made bows, arrows, quivers, knapped heads and other incredibly inspiring stuff on this site! GREAT WORK!   :clapper:

I like that arm guard.  I got my first trad deer this year and I have the hide in the freezer. I saved it to make a quiver.

I was lucky enough to get a second deer and I saved that hide as well. Thank you for the idea of something else to make.

i made myself a spare b/head carrier. its made from kangaroo hide i tanned myself using wattle bark tan. stipped the bark and all myself. i usually carry 6 arrows when hunting. 5 b/heads, 1 blunt. sometimes i found myself in need of a b/head for the blunt arrow. works really well. just straps onto my thunderhorn quiver. it's great to make your own stuff, it adds to the experience.

thats very Cool Clint, wattle bark tan and all nice going.

You know i was looking at my quiver the other day trying to work out a way of doing exactly that, also occasionally find the need for a broadhead on my hex or judo arrow but need somewhere convenient to carry it. Trusty old Black stump Bh

tradtusker- i doesn't have to go on your quiver. you could change the length of the strap to make it go on the limb of your bow also. that would be the go if you don't always hunt with a bow quiver. actually if you make it to go on a quiver all you have to do is punch a few holes to give the right adjustment to be able to put it on the bowlimb. two birds, one stone.

This is a quiver I put together from scrap leather. It was a gift for a friend. I made a similar one for one of her daughters too.     Pat
