My sons and I would like to thank Shawn, Cindy and family for making this a most enjoyable event.
Their gracious hospitality and offering of their home for 80 people for such a great cause is nothing less then outstanding and touched deeply into the hearts of all who attended.
My sons have really gotten bitten with trad hunting and cannot wait till next year.

Ken, that was the start of a leg cramp!! Terry, Thanks bud, Doug and I were just saying with the $1600 from the Michigan boys we will be close to $7000. Doug said that should help us get over that $100,000 for the kids this year!! I appreciate all the kind words but lets get some stories going and I know Curt has enough pics. to fill 10 pages. This ol'boy is done for the night, I am going in to make sure Cindy has the team pink outfit on!!    Goodnight and OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn

That Bunny dive was by far the highlight of the hunt for me! I laughed myself to tears. Where was Bill Langer when we really needed him? We tell the newbies all the time to "dive in that rose bush", but we really don't expect them to do it! Matt, you can hunt with me anytime (next time I'll be a stander though)

Whoever won the bowfishing trips please drop me a PM. I'll send you all my specific information and some details of the trip. Ie. season dates, process etc.  I will supply all the gear, food, and drinks so you will only need to bring yourself and your partner (if you wish).

Skippy, I have your information.

Thank you for the kind words Keith.

I have two requests:

First, for whoever won my knife to drop me a line.  I like to know where my knives end up (and I'd like to apologize for not sharpening it to shaving sharp - that's the way it came off the grinder the night before... stones were in my bag to finish the job.

Second, for the person driving the tan Toyota with the strung 1959-60 50# Bear Polar hanging in the back to send me a PM!  :D   That right there is one of my favorite bows!

I'd like to thank Shawn and his family again.  This is really a special hunt and a lot of work to put on!

Shawn and his family were great host. Thank you, I got to put faces with lots of the names here and shoot a bunch of bows. I will be sure to have my NY licence next year and probally bring both kids and my soon to be wife they would have a blast. Good food, good times and great friends. The most immportant thing was 5300 for the kids. Thanks to Izzy for making me spend more money I saw your antler burr limb bolts from Bill and now I need a pair on my zipper. Chris

Stories, photos, where to start.......

After a bit of wondering if Hunter was going to make it and when we were going to leave, we ended up leaving at right about the time had originally planned, with Hunter saying he was fine and his fever going down.......(I must have asked him a hundred times if he was ok this weekend, as I know others did, he always said he was ok. Got home last night and his temp was over 100, this morning it's back to normal....)

We arrived at Shawn's four hours later, walked in the back door and it was like seeing family again, Shawn and Cindy, Curt and Cade, (great to se him at his first JLMBH!!), and the special guest, Doug.  I knew, as I think we all did through this site, that Doug is just plain a good guy, and this weekend did nothing but reinforce that for me.  After some small talk we sat down to a tasty boiled dinner,(Thanks Cindy, I haven't had that in a while....) After dinner it was off to bed, knowing that fellow bunny hunters would start arriving pretty early the next morning.
Next morning we were up bright and early, and sure enough at 6:45 I look out into the backyard and in pulls Mikey with his now famous "Gong" target, which he immediately begins to assemble and ready for the "kids".....(I think we all became "kids" at some point during the weekend just so we could shoot at it!!!!!)

More will follow..........along with some pics
