Just curious how far on average everyone travels on the average outing. I'm only going about 25 miles from home on average but that has to change.

200 plus miles round trip to the cabin, and during deer season it may be every other weekend. Other than that there is state land within 10-20 miles that I visit when I can.

Guess I'm one of the lucky ones... I can be hunting about 100 yards from my house, or I can drive 1/4 mile to open a gate.

I live and work in NYC. But I have a second home 130 miles away in the Catskill Mountains. Once there, hunting is right out the back door.

I drive 180 miles round trip to hunt for the afternoon. Drove 275 miles round trip to hunt an area for the day Yesterday. I've one spot that is a bout 20 miles from the house, but I don't enjoy hunting there. You guys with places to hunt close to home are lucky.

About 300 yards to my main stand,or 100 yards to one other. Then there's the deck....
One other spot is about 3 miles away.Use that one mainly for rifle and smokepole, occasional bowhunt.

I can hunt out my back door...thirty steps to the woods and onto the ridge. I also have twenty-thousand acres of gamelands within just miles of my house. Love rural living.

160 miles to my normal hunting spot at least 9 times a year, driving 28hrs starting on Monday to texas for week hunt, an drove 14hrs in June to SC for a 3 day HOG hunt this past yr with my daughter. Then when i hunt close to home i just jump on my 4 wheeler an hunt on the farm that i live on. This is a basic yr in the woods for me, the destinations change yearly
