left wing with right helical?

i noticed the hunter arrows in the new 3r catalog appear to have a left wing fletch with a right helical?? i could be wrong but my question is does it make a difference if a left wing feather is fletched with right wing offset/clamp or vice versa? seems like it would affect flight somewhat

I'd love to know about this as well.
I fletched a few arrows with some left wing feathers but put them on right helical. The ones I used actually went on better and seem fine to me.

Yes, you should not use a right wing feather in a left wing clamp and visa versa. The base of the feather will not fit down on the shaft properly.
You can use either right or left feathers with a straight clamp.

OBTW, you need to adjust your straight clamp to the proper dihedral angle to accomodate the correct wing feather.

The adjustment should be covered in your fletching jig instructions, but the important part is to keep all the fletch along the shaft so it glues down well.  The center point of the feather should be the center of the shaft with the fletch angle bisecting.  Then it works according to math, physics and God's grand design of the flight feathers of a bird!

I have a half dozen fletched with right wing in my left helical clamps.  Just went and bought some fethers didn't pay attention.  It was fun getting them to seat, but they fly OK.  Killed a turkey and two hogs with these still have two left.  Looks ugly.

I know a guy that fletchs his arrows that way. The reason he says is so that his feathers stand up better. Only problem he has is that they wear out quickly.

the hunter arrows in the cat. are right wing, right helical. the traditional carbons are left wing left helical in the cat..

I find it kinder and more productive to stalk goose feeding grounds during the moult.

I've fletched them before that way.They fly fine even with broadheads.

I used to live by a park that was infested by Canada geese. Around late June I could spend an hour walking around there and get hundreds of primaries.
