Bamboo ok to shoot in the cold?
« on: January 03, 2009, 03:58:00 PM »
I was curious if a bamboo longbow is ok for cold weather shooting? I have heard it was hard on yew bows and figured I would ask before I tried my bamboo outside in the woods...Thanks Roy

William,  I guess I need to know what cold is to you.  I hunt in Texas and we rarely get to far below freezing.  That said I shoot my yew and boo 58' Blackhills longbow in as cold as it gets.  Never had a problem.  Bob
Now then, get your weapons ~ your quiver and bow ~ and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27.3

I'm in the middle of IL, so with 2 weeks of hunting left it could be down in single digits again before the season is over.
