Thunderstick limb wood pics?
« on: January 03, 2009, 05:43:00 PM »
I just traded for an osage Thunderstick III and absolutely love the way the bow shoots. I'm thinking of ordering a new III on the fancy side.

There was a MOAB recently on the classified ad's that had quilted maple. Man, did that look sharp! I think I may get those veneers.

However, does anyone have pics of any Thundersticks with more fancy/premium limb woods?

I prefer something on the less bright side, for hunting, but any pics would be great, so I can make a decison.
Thanks.

Ben, what wood is that? Very nice.

Righttrail, what's the curled riser wood? That's sharp too! Is the ash brighter or darker in person, or about the same? I'm assuming it's not too bright.

The riser is bocote and a cocobolo flare, bamboo cores, antler tips, love the bow and it shoots great. It's about the same as shown, I think it would be even better had it been stained darker but so far it has not been an issue in the field.
I love Jims handle the most, may have a mag in the near future, kinda want to try a shorter bow. Nope this ones not fer sale!

Rightrail,
I sent you a PM on a 58" Mag I'm going to list and that we chatted about.
