Well I missed ...
The bear is not as far as it appears in the picture...It was the steep uphill shot that got me...I misjudged and shot just underneath her...
A guy has a lot of time to think while the arrow is in flight...You marvel at the nock spinning away with nary a wobble..You know that the release was good..
The next thing you think about is the line running true...Wow looks good!!You start thinking about the tracking job, bloodtrails, and the pack..
Now the arrow is almost there and you start getting excited...Looks to be a perfect shot...This s when you start thinking about hero shots..Then what kind of sausage you are going to have made...Pepperoni??? You bet!!!
The excitement gets to be a fever pitch...You think I have done it,my first bear with trad equipment...You want to call your buddies on the phone...Then,at the last possible second and only inches from the bear, the arrow dramaticly takes a nose dive and the bottom drops off...
You shoot only inches underneath her...Your jaw hits the ground about the same time as the arrow...
Yip, a lot of time to think while a arrow is in flight...
