Clint, you want to be in Sheep or goat country whenever you can, you can dress for the temps. Some of the old time sheep guides wear rubber boots regardless of the temperature. Just get bigger boots and thicker wool socks inside. Stop in at a farm supply store or Canadian Tire and look at Baffin brand boots. Rubber boots with a removable thinsulate liner and airbob soles. If the snow is more than 6" deep, they work as good as anything in the mountains or bush. Decent grip and warm feet. Not much for ankle support. Get them a size or 2 larger than normal and get a pair of thick wool socks, handmade if you can. You want them snug, not tight, that will freeze your feet regardless of how much thinsulate you have. You can buy 5 or 6 pairs of them for the price of 1 set of Kenetreks.
