To each his own I guess. I shot split finger for about 7 years, and then switched to 3 under. I shoot MUCH better 3 under. Took a few weeks to get used to it, but I won't go back now.

It doesn't matter how or what you shoot, as long as you hit your target.

You guys who shoot three under, do you ever have a problem with the arrow coming off the string and causing a dryfire? I can shoot with the three under method, but I never seem to get over the fear of, "Is the arrow nock still clipped to the string.", while at full draw.

Started with split and shot for many years that way... tried 3-under about 2 1/2 years ago and was way more consistant in my shooting... been 3-under ever since.

foxbo - it sure will if there is no nock button! That is why I shoot longbow and self bow split. I do not have any trouble with three under on the hunting bow and I use a single nock button.

learned shooting split and shot very well. Tried 3 under about 4 years ago and shoot even better.
I have never had a problem with the arrow nock coming off of the string and do not use a bottom nock, just put my finger against the arrow nock.
Problem I do not like is the bow seams to be louder to me with 3 under.

My ncoks are very loose (they get that way due to serving wear) and I've never had a probelm with an arrrow falling off or dry fire. You still have some finger contact the the arrow even with 3 under so it's not like that can happen anyway.
However I did have a problem with the nock slipping down which required a smaller string tie on nock under the arrow along with the usual top one.

Shot split years ago. Went to 3 under in late '90s. Felt weird at first, but then got used to it and never looked back. Now, split feels funny!
