Morrison Shawnee Limb Torque????

Guys I just got my hands on a new to me Shawnee with Dakota limbs. My question is this. How tight should I torque the limb bolt to. I seems the previous owner really snugged them down because the cork pad was mashed almost paper thin and squeezing out around the limbs. Also have any of you used anything else to pad/silence the limbs. Thanks

Just snug. I turn mine untill they stop, that's it.
That's what Bob told me to do.

Lets talk torque. Being a mechanic for 34 years I torque bolts every day.The reson you torque a bolt is to strecth to some degree. This put a preload on the bolt and keeps things tight. The torque I apply is matal against metal. The torqe spec on the size bolt for a bow limb is about 25 foot lbs.for metal holding NOT wood. If you put that much pressure on the wood you will crush it to some degree.WE dont want that. Like Bob sez run them down till they stop. When you string the bow you will get plenty of load on the bolt that will keep it tight Hope this helps.

Chris,
Just as Jeff said. I don't believe that Bob uses the cork or felt pads anymore. You can remove the cork, clean it up and then use beeswax or bowstring wax on the riser pad around the mounting bolt hole. You don't need a lot, just a back and forth "Z" pattern. That will take the squeek out of them.
